Sweepy drops “First To Know”

Danish artist Sweepy continues to push his energetic, genre-fluid sound forward with the release of “First To Know”, the second single from his forthcoming EP Shortcuts. Following the tempo-driven debut “Undo (Ctrl+Z)”, the new track sharpens the direction with a hypnotic, high-energy blend of house, pop and rap influences.

Created in a single studio session with producer Marcus Gordon, First To Know captures a spontaneous creative moment where instinct led the process. The track’s defining line — “What’s the matter witchu” — was born seconds before the beat dropped, setting the tone for a song built on momentum, urgency and atmosphere.

Gordon’s distinctive sound palette plays a central role throughout the EP, shaping melodies and moods organically. The workflow is intuitive and fast-moving, allowing ideas to evolve naturally until everything locks in place — a process that mirrors the forward-motion energy of the track itself.

Sonically, First To Know moves through fast-paced, hypnotic rhythms paired with pop-leaning vocal hooks and a contrasting rap verse that adds dynamic tension. The result is a track that balances euphoria and reflection, with a subtle melancholy running through the chorus beneath its club-ready surface.

First To Know is the second release from Shortcuts, an EP that sees Sweepy explore rhythmic, experimental and pop-driven soundscapes with confidence and clarity.

Released in collaboration with FLATLIST.

Sweepys is wearing the OPEL in Clear / Clear Blue Light.
